PartsBlue Canada: Returns & Refunds Policy

Last Updated: February 13, 2026

1. The 30-Day Return Window

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return. After 30 days, all sales are considered final, except for manufacturer warranty claims.

2. Eligibility Standards

To protect the integrity of our inventory for all Canadian customers, returns are only accepted if:

  • The part is uninstalled: No grease, tool marks, or "scuffed" bolt holes.
  • Original Packaging: The item must be in its original manufacturer’s box.
  • Protection: Do not write on or attach shipping labels directly to the manufacturer’s box. Please place the item inside a secondary shipping carton.

3. Non-Returnable Categories

  • Electrical & Electronic Parts: Sensors, control modules, and wiring harnesses are Final Sale if the factory seal is broken.
  • Chemicals & Fluids: For safety and transport regulations, opened or unopened fluids (oils, coolants, etc.) cannot be returned.
  • Kits: We do not accept partial returns of components sold as a kit.

5. Manual Return Process (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Contact Support

Email returns@partsblue.ca with the subject line: Return Request - [Your Order Number]. You must include:

  • A brief explanation for the return.
  • Clear photos of the part and its packaging to verify the condition.

Step 2: Written Authorisation

A PartsBlue specialist will review your request within 24–48 business hours. If approved, we will provide you with a Return Instruction Email containing RMA and the correct warehouse return address.

Note: Do not ship items back to the "shipped from" address on your original label without our written approval.

Step 3: Shipping Your Item

Ship the part using a carrier of your choice (we recommend Canada Post or UPS with tracking). Reply to your support thread with the Tracking Number so we can monitor the arrival.

Step 4: Inspection & Refund

Once the part is received at our facility, it will undergo a physical inspection. Upon approval, your refund (minus applicable fees) will be processed back to your original payment method within 7–10 business days.

6. No Direct Exchanges

To ensure you get the right part without delay, we do not offer traditional exchanges. If you need a different part, please place a new order on our website immediately. We will process your return for the original item separately.

7. Core Returns

If you are returning a core for a deposit refund:

  1. Drain all fluids and place the core in the original box of the new part.
  2. Email us for the specific Core Return Instructions.
  3. Cores must be returned within 60 days of the original purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. General Returns

How do I start a return? Since we don’t use an automated RMA system, simply email returns@partsblue.ca with your Order Number and a photo of the part in its original box. A real person from our support team will review your request and provide shipping instructions within 24–48 business hours.

Can I return a part after 30 days? Our standard return window is 30 days from the delivery date. After this period, parts are generally not eligible for return unless there is a valid warranty claim under the manufacturer's terms.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

  • If we made a mistake (sent the wrong part or it arrived damaged), we will provide a prepaid shipping label.
  • If you changed your mind or ordered the wrong part, you are responsible for the return shipping costs and a 15% restocking fee.

2. Part Condition & Fitment

What if I opened the box to check the part? That’s perfectly fine! You can open the box to inspect the item. However, the part must remain uninstalled. If there are grease marks, scuffs from a wrench, or if the part has been "test-fitted" onto the vehicle, we cannot accept it for return.

Can I return electrical parts? Electrical components (sensors, ECUs, bulbs, etc.) are Final Sale once the manufacturer’s plastic seal or box is opened. These items are sensitive to voltage spikes and cannot be resold once handled.

The website said it fit my car, but it doesn't. Is this a "Website Error"? We strive for 100% accuracy, but automotive data can vary. If our fitment tool explicitly confirms the part for your specific VIN and it does not fit, we will treat this as a Website Error and provide a full refund, including shipping. Please provide your VIN when contacting support.

3. Shipping & Refunds

Where do I ship my return? PartsBlue utilizes multiple warehouses across Canada. Do not ship your part back to the address on the original shipping label. Our support team will provide you with the specific warehouse address for your return once it is approved.

How long does it take to get my money back? Once your return arrives at our warehouse, it undergoes a physical inspection (usually within 3–5 business days). Once approved, the refund is sent to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, it may take another 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

Can I cancel my order before it ships? Our system is designed for speed. Once an order hits "Processing" status (usually within 1 hour), it cannot be cancelled. In this case, you will need to receive the item and initiate a standard return.

4. Core Deposits & Warranties

How do I get my Core Deposit back? Place your old part in the box that the new part arrived in. Ensure all fluids are drained to prevent shipping hazards. Email us for the specific Core Return Address, as these often go to a different facility than standard returns.

What happens if my part fails after a few months? This falls under a Warranty Claim. Most parts we sell carry a 12-month manufacturer's warranty. Email us with your order details and a description of the failure. We will facilitate the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.
